Porcelain Veneers are the ultimate dental luxury, a status symbol that says “I have arrived”. People will notice your beautiful, natural, harmonious smile. A well crafted set of veneers will have people attracted to you. People will say yes to you. To find out more and to see some of our cases check out our page on Porcelain Veneers.
In short, porcelain veneers are thin ceramic shells added onto the teeth done in 2 appointments. Porcelain veneers are much more durable than bonding. They are also ideal for patients with minor misalignment, such as gaps or crowding. Rather than undergoing lengthy orthodontic treatment, porcelain veneers can straighten the appearance of teeth in just two appointments.
Dental bonding is a very versatile procedure. It can address minor discoloration, minor damage, misshapen teeth, and gaps between teeth. During treatment, Dr. Damon or Dr. Blankenship will apply a composite resin, which is the same material used for tooth-colored fillings and shape it.
Bonding, is used in smaller applications and might not be as long lasting as Porcelain Veneers. Dr. Damon uses Renamel from Cosmodent. This is a high performance dental composite, that offers multiple shades, tints, and is the most lifelike composite on the market. In fact, Dr. Damon has 2 Renamel Veneers in his own mouth!
Teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures offered today. Professional bleaching treatments can lift stains to whiten the teeth by up to eight shades in a single appointment. Our practice offers both in-office and take-home whitening so patients can choose the option that is right for them. We offer Kor whitening for our in office. No longer is laser or zoom whitening preferred as multiple applications can cause teeth damage.
If you have an uneven gum line, or you have excessive tissues that creates a “gummy” smile, gum contouring may be appropriate for you. This procedure can eliminate excess tissue to create a perfectly scalloped and symmetrical gum line.
Advancements in the Field
Cosmetic dentistry has evolved in recent years. With the many advancements that have taken place, Drs. Damon and Blankenship can easily conceal numerous dental imperfections with just one or two simple procedures. These procedures are minimally invasive and involve little to no discomfort. It is important to note, however, that sometimes it is necessary to combine cosmetic and restorative procedures to produce optimal results.
