Dental Bonding is a method of directly repairing or filling a space with tooth colored composite resin. This can be applied in a single appointment, is relatively quick, and can give good results.
Dental Bonding can be a great solution for patients with a chipped tooth, peg laterals (congenitally small lateral incisor teeth), or to fill a small space in-between your teeth. There are a number of factors that Dr. Damon or Dr. Blankenship need to address such as your bite (occlusion), patterns of grinding and wear, and your overall health of your mouth.
The application of dental bonding, can be relatively simple, or in extreme cases be rather difficult and take several hours. For a general rule if you need 1 or 2 teeth bonded, the appointment will be about 1 hour and most often we do need some local anesthetic. If many teeth are being worked on then study models will be made and some bonding guides might be utilized to help get the proper esthetic result.
Your teeth will be corrected for any incorrect shapes, slightly abraded, then treated with etchant and bonding agent. We will then apply Renamel a cosmodent product - this is the #1 anterior composite on the market. The system allows for a wide array of colors, clear composite, and bleach shades so we can be as creative as possible to achieve the best result.
